Meet the Catering Chef Manager

Zackary Munds - Born and raised in Sacramento, Chef Zack Munds brings deep local roots and over fourteen years of culinary experience to his role as Catering Chef Manager. His passion for food began on his grandfather’s farm, where he spent weekends and summers learning the value of hard work and fresh ingredients.


After graduating from culinary school, Zack began his journey at The Old Spaghetti Factory, working his way up from dishwasher to cook. He later honed his skills in fine dining as a line cook at Eight American Bistro in Granite Bay, where he developed a strong appreciation for quality over quantity. It was during this time that he discovered his love for catering while working weddings and special events.


For the past ten years, Zack has been a key part of the Sac State dining team. As Catering Chef Manager, he’s excited to lead and inspire his team - focusing on consistency, quality, and delivering exceptional experiences for every event.

To place an order, contact our catering office between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at 916-278-6786 or martin-james11@aramark.com. Whenever possible, all catering orders should be placed 14 business days prior to your event. While we make every effort to accompany last minute orders, we cannot guarantee your first choice selections can be fulfilled.
